John Hollway
John Hollway is the Associate Dean at Penn’s Carey Law School. He is also the Executive Director of the Quattrone Center that helps organizations confront challenges and turn negative occurrences into opportunities for quality improvement. He is a national thought leader on the use of root cause analysis in criminal justice and is a frequent consultant to criminal justice agencies and corporations on quality improvement and measurement issues. John is the author of numerous publications, including Conviction Review Units: A National Perspective, A Systems Approach to Preventing Errors in Criminal Justice, and Killing Time: An 18-Year Odyssey from Death Row to Freedom, winner of the National Independent Book Award for non-fiction and one of the Chicago Sun-Times’ Best Books of the Year. John holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Diplomatic History with a minor in East Asian Studies, a JD with honors from the George Washington University Law School, and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology MAPP degree with Distinction from the University of Pennsylvania and was one of the first lawyers to go through the MAPP program. In addition, Mr. Hollway served as a board member and chairman of the board of Philabundance, a large nonprofit hunger relief organization in the Philadelphia region for 10 years.
